My Story

So happy
you're here!
I'm Wendi
My spiritual journey began when I was a child and it was tested and challenged throughout my life. I tried everything to alleviate the emotional and physical pains that I had experienced in life, which lead me to sound healing and Reiki. I had such amazing results, I eventually learned how to use those methods to treat myself, then earned my certifications and worked my way up to Reiki Master. Now I'm passionate about helping people live their best life and know what it feels like to experience a balanced mind, body, and spirit.

I discovered at 10 years old that there are greater forces in the universe interacting with our mere human existence. After floating in stormy, dark, cold waters for nearly 3 hours, my extended family of 10 plus 3 friends were rescued from what could have been a fatal boating accident. We had been scattered in small groups, clinging onto boat cushions, and being pulled by strong currents in the middle of a large lake nowhere near the shore. Then a young man appeared in a small motorboat, pulling each of our groups to safety and brining us back to his cabin on an island. There were moments when we did not think some of us would be found or survive, especially my little sister and my baby cousin. I later learned details about the man who rescued us and how divine intervention played a part.

The young man decided at the last moment to go visit him mother at their cabin when other plans fell through on a college break. He was writing a letter and listening to the radio when, through the noise of the stormy night, he had a feeling that he needed to turn off his radio and listen. At that point, he said his father came to him and told him there were people on the lake who needed his help. His father had passed away by drowning in the lake several years before. With just a flashlight in hand, he jumped in his boat and without thinking where he needed to go, he miraculously found each of our groups, except my grandma and little sister. His boat was almost out of gas when he and my father went back out one more time to find them. He told us later that he asked his father for help and then looked out and saw a green glow hovering over two small figures in the water. It was my sister and grandma. Everyone survived and healed from their injuries. I will never forget this experience and I attribute it to the start of my own spiritual journey.

More Moments and Experiences...

Other moments and experiences added to my spiritual growth as a child. Like sitting around a fire at summer camp. Feeling an overwhelming presence of spirit all around as we held hands, sang joyfully, and embraced. I remember feeling so much joy and love that I was brought to tears. I even became a camp counselor so I could extend the glorious feelings and share them with a new generation. The sound, joy, and love being shared, created such a high, positive vibration that I know there was something special about all those components combined to create healing energy.
Throughout my childhood, I was visited regularly by my grandfather, who passed away before my mom and dad were married. He would stand watching over me from my bedroom doorway nightly. I was never afraid and always felt safe with him there. I only discovered who he was after college when my family was looking at old pictures. My sisters and I looked at one of my grandfather’s pictures and discovered that we all had similar experiences with him watching over us. That was validation for me that spirit is real, and I should not be afraid.

As a young adult, I went through some of the typical experiences, like new love, lost love, trying to find my niche in life and a career that would fulfill me. Through many ups and downs, I discovered my own resiliency, determination, and inner strength.

Have you ever read a book that REALLY spoke to you?

A friend gifted me “The Celestine Prophecy” after I went through a devastating break up with my boyfriend of 6 years, whom I had been engaged to and thought I would spend the rest of my life with. That book put words to my thoughts and beliefs I had for many years. It also answered so many questions I had about the universe and strengthened my belief that there is a greater purpose and that events, situations, and people come into your life for a reason. It could be for a moment, a season, or a lifetime.

That book set me on a new path of spiritual growth. When I wasn’t working, I craved wisdom, experiences, and adventure. All to enhance my life and gain knowledge about people, places, and cultures. I traveled throughout many parts of the world gathering beautiful moments and memories. I had such profound experiences, that if I close my eyes today and draw on the memory, I can still feel the vibrational energy. Like when I hiked the steep, long stairway at the top of a mountain in Chiang Mai, Thailand to reach a temple overlooking the valley. The atmosphere was so peaceful, and the chants of the monks rang through the air like soothing music that surrounds you with a warm embrace. To this day, thinking of this experience still puts a smile on my face and fills my heart with joy. I felt so connected to spirit there, it’s a place I still go to at times in my mind during meditation.
One of my greatest challenges and tests of my own spiritual resolve and resilience came at age 43, when I had to start my life pretty much all over again. The job I had been doing for 18 years in the mortgage industry crashed and I lost everything I had worked so hard for. I felt incredibly lost and was in a kind of darkness I had never known before. Many tears were shed, and I did a lot of praying to my highest spirit source asking for guidance and strength. I was heard. Luckily, I had been working with various practitioners over the years for the wellness of my mind, body, and spirit. I had the knowledge to dig deep and pull up my inner strength, ask for guidance, and understand how to move forward out of the dark hole I felt I was being pulled into. I ended up picking up my life, moving to a completely different state, and starting a new career. In looking back to that time, I barely remember the first year in my renewed life. However, I do remember feeling that spirit was around me, comforting me, and helping give me the determination needed to get back on my feet.

My resilience and connection to spirit has been tested throughout the years since starting over. Particularly around grief after losing people I love, as well as times I had to go through the recovery process after major injuries and surgeries. Those experiences forced me to dig deep and not only deal with inner emotional pain, but also physical pain. I discovered the two go together and play off each other. I tried everything to alleviate the emotional and physical pains, which lead me to sound healing and Reiki. I had such amazing results, I eventually learned how to use those methods to treat myself, then earned my certifications and worked my way up to Reiki Master.
After friends and family saw how effective the methods and practices I was using on myself were, they asked me to work on them. I quickly discovered how much I loved doing energy work and helping people. That is when Serenity Healing was born and when I decided the abilities I have should to be shared with those who want, and need, energy work...for their highest and greatest good. I continue to work on my own personal development, spiritual growth, and enhancements to my offerings. I have learned to bless the experiences and journey of my past and pull forward the wisdom learned along the way, so that it can be implemented in my present-day life and my work with clients.
**My purpose in life is to be a healer, spread joy, happiness, love, and to be a warrior of the light**
